늘 본래대로 계신 예수님
마19:8-9

생명의 말씀

“예수께서 가라사대 모세가 너희 마음의 완악함을 인하여 아내 내어버림을 허락하였거니와 본래는 그렇지 아니하니라 내가 너희에게 말하노니 누구든지 음행한 연고 외에 아내를 내어버리고 다른 데 장가드는 자는 간음함이니라”

‘본래’라는 말은 ‘본디’, ‘사물이 전해 내려오는 처음’, ‘원래, 원시, 그대로 있는 것’ 등의 뜻입니다. 사람이나 사람이 사는 사회는 늘 변하고 바뀌지만 하나님은 ‘회전하는 그림자’(약1:17)도 없으신 분입니다. 사람들은 상대방의 호불호에 따라 대하는 마음가짐이 다릅니다. 어떤 사람은 환하게 반기고 다른 사람은 낯빛이 변하여 싸늘한 시선으로 대합니다. 회전할 때 그림자가 있습니다. 하지만 하나님은 모든 사람을 공평하게, 동일하게 대하시기 때문에 그림자가 없으십니다.

또한 하나님이 지으신 하늘과 땅은 옷과 같이 낡아지고 변할 것이지만 오직 주는 ‘여전하여’(히1:12) 연대가 다함이 없으신 분입니다. 아무리 많은 시간이 흘러가도 변함없이 한결같으신 주님의 속성을 증거하고 있는 것입니다. 말라기 선지자도 하나님은 ‘변역지 아니하신 분’(말3:6)으로 소개하고 있습니다. 그러한 하나님을 의지할 때 결코 소멸되지 않습니다. 이러한 하나님이시기 때문에 하나님은 어제나 오늘이나 영원토록 ‘동일’(히13:8)하십니다. 이것이 하나님의 본래의 세계입니다

하나님의 ‘본래’를 제대로 이해하지 못했던 바리새인들이 예수님께 이혼문제로 질문을 했습니다. 이는 질문이 아니라 예수를 난처한 상황으로 내몰라 궁지에 빠뜨리려는 계략이었습니다. 이들의 계략에 예수님은 ‘본래’로 답변해 주셨습니다. 즉 하나님의 본래의 세계는 남자와 여자를 만드시고 한 몸이 되게 하는 것입니다. 여자를 내어 버리는 것은 사람의 완악함으로 인한 ‘비본래’의 세계입니다. 이 결혼제도는 하나님께서 처음 제정하신 것으로 하나님의 창조원리에 속하는 것입니다. 바리새인들은 전통과 관습이 어떠한 지, 율법이 어떠한 판결을 내리는지에 관심을 기울였지만, 예수님은 ‘본래, 근본’을 가지고 문제를 해결하셨습니다. 본래 정해진 원칙과 질서가 인간세상에서는 숱한 부침 속에 변질되어 원형을 상실하지만, 예수님은 어제나 오늘이나 영원토록 ‘본래’로 계셨고, 그 ‘본래’로 문제를 해결하셨습니다.

Matthew 19:8-9

The Word of Life

“Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. I tell you that any one who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries an other woman commits adultery.”

The word ‘originally’ means, ‘by nature’, ‘the first of something being passed down’, ‘originally’, or ‘origin’. A person and the society in which that person inhibits is always changing and transforming but God doesn’t even have ‘a shifting shadow’ (Jam 1:17). A person’s heart changes according to another person’s likes and dislikes. One person may be welcomed and the other not. They have a shadow when they move. However, God treats everyone with the same fairness thus He does not have a shadow.

Furthermore, the heavens and the earth that God created seems like it is going to become old and change like clothes but only the Lord is ‘the same’ (Heb 1:12) and His days are infinite. This Word is testifying of God’s character which remains the same and no matter how long the time passes. The prophet Malachi even introduced God as the ‘one who does not change’ (Mal 3:6). When we rely on such a God we shall not disappear. God is like this hence God is the ‘same’ yesterday, today, and eternally (Heb 13:8). This is the original world of God.

The Pharisees who did not rightly understand the ‘originality’ of God questioned Jesus about the issue of divorce. This was not really a question but their scheme to put Jesus in a position difficult position. Jesus answered with ‘originality’ in answer to their question. Thus God’s original world was to create man and woman and make them become one body. Casting the woman out is a ‘unnatural’ world which resulted according to the wickedness of man. This marriage law was first established by God and is a part of God’s creation law. The Pharisees were inclined their interest towards what the traditions were like and what decisions the law made but Jesus solved problems with ‘originality, and ‘origin’. The form of the laws and order that were originally created have become altered due to the many adversities and prosperities in the human world, however, regardless, Jesus has remained the same ‘originally’ yesterday, today and for eternity and solved this problem ‘by nature’.

Prayer Title

Pray that you can understand God’s original world through the bible and solve the problem and restore the order of creation.
