감사하는 자의 삶
시50:23

생명의 말씀

“감사로 제사를 드리는 자가 나를 영화롭게 하나니 그 행위를 옳게 하는 자에게 내가 하나님의 구원을 보이리라”

인생의 목적은 하나님을 영화롭게 하는데 있다는 것이 성경의 사상이요 장로교의 제 일 교리입니다. 본문을 보면 하나님을 영화롭게 하는 것이 감사의 제사라고 말씀하고 있습니다. 그러므로 감사의 제사는 인생의 목적을 구체적으로 실현하는 것입니다. “범사에 감사하라. 이는 그리스도 안에서 너희를 향하신 뜻이니라”고 살전5:18절에서 분명히 말씀하고 있습니다.

감사의 동기는 신앙입니다. 감사는 축복에 대한 고마움의 표시요 하나님께서 행하신 일에 대한 고백이며 은혜받은 자들이 보답하는 올바른 태도입니다. 그러므로 감사가 나타날 때 참 신앙이 나타나는 것입니다. 감사는 펌프와 같이 하면 할수록 자꾸 감사하게 되고, 부요의 복을 받게 되고 마음의 평안의 복을 받으며 축복이 쏟아져 나옵니다. 그러나 감사를 미루거나 빠뜨리면 그만큼 빈자리가 생겨납니다. 젖소 한 마리를 키우던 시골의 어리석은 농부가 한 달 뒤 맞이하게 될 귀한 손님들에게 대접하기 위해 한 달 동안 젖을 짜지 않고 아껴두었다가 막상 당일이 되어 짜려하니 한방울도 나오지 않았다는 일화가 있습니다. 젖소는 매일 우유를 짜야 잘 나오게 되는데 이 어리석은 농부는 우유를 아끼려다 젖소를 망치고 말았습니다. 우리 중에도 감사에 인색하다 이 어리석은 농부처럼 자기의 인생을 망치는 자는 없습니까?

감사의 고백이 없는 저축은 밑 빠진 독에 물 붓는 격입니다. 그러므로 사랑과 감사는 우리의 생활에서 매일매일 고백되어야 할 것입니다. 이를 단순히 마음 속에만 품고 있을 것이 아니라 기도와 찬송으로, 입술을 통해, 물질과 시간으로 고백해야 합니다. 영어로 ‘제사’(Sacrifice)라는 말이 뜻하는 바는 ‘산 제물을 바치는 행위’입니다. 온전한 감사는 나를 희생하는 제물을 드릴 때 이루어지는 것임을 보여주는 말입니다. 때문에 감사는 생명까지 다 드릴 수 있는 ‘입체적인 제사’가 되어야 합니다.

감사는 드리면 드릴 수록 더 샘솟아나는 샘물과 같습니다. 오늘 하루도 하나님께서 주신 은혜를 생각하며 감사의 제사를 드릴 수 있도록 기도하십시오.

The Word of Life

“Those who sacrifice thank offerings honor me, and to the blameless I will show my salvation.”

It is the teaching of the Bible and the doctrine of the Presbyterian Church that the purpose of life is in honoring God. When we read today’s main verse it tells u that those who sacrifice thank offerings honor God. Therefore, the sacrifice of thank offerings is fulfilling the purpose of life in detail. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 specifically tells us to “give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

The motive of thanksgiving is our spiritual lives. Thanksgiving is a symbol of our gratitude for our blessing and the confession of the things God has done as well as the correct attitude of a person who has received grace. Therefore where there is thanksgiving there is also a true spiritual life. Thanksgiving is like a pump, and when we continue giving it then we will become more thankful, receive the blessing of wealth and peace in our heart and blessing will overflow. However, when we are reluctant in thanksgiving or forget, we will create for ourselves a great gap. There is a story about a foolish farmer who raised a dairy cow who didn’t milk his cow for many months in preparation for a guest who was to visit him in a month’s time. However, when he tried to milk the cow on the day not a single drop of milk came out of the cow. A dairy cow must be milked every day for the milk to come out well but the foolish farmer didn’t to save milk but eventually he ruined his cow. Is there anybody amongst us who are wrecking our lives like the foolish farmer?

Without confessing our thanksgiving it is like shoveling sand against the tide. Therefore thanksgiving and love must be confessed within our lives each day. We mustn’t keep these feelings within our hearts but confess it through prayer and worship, through our lips and through our material possessions and time. The word ‘sacrifice’ means to ‘offer live offerings’. A complete thanksgiving is fulfilled when we offer up ourselves as a living sacrifice. As such, thanksgiving must be a ‘three dimensional sacrifice’ that can even give up our own lives.

Prayer Title

Thanksgiving is like spring water that is continuously supplied. Pray that you can consider that grace that God has given to you and sacrifice thanks offerings.
