하나님을 가까이 하면
약4:7-8

생명의 말씀

“그런즉 너희는 하나님께 순복할지어다 마귀를 대적하라 그리하면 너희를 피하리라 하나님을 가까이 하라 그리하면 너희를 가까이 하시리라 죄인들아 손을 깨끗이 하라 두 마음을 품은 자들아 마음을 성결케 하라”

에녹은 하나님과 300년간 동행하다가 하늘나라로 부르심을 받은 사람입니다. 에녹과 같은 동행의 삶, 하나님께 가까이 나아가는 삶의 모습이 어떠한 것인지 살펴보도록 하겠습니다.

첫째, 베뢰아 사람들처럼 성경을 상고하는 사람들입니다. 이들은 “간절한 마음으로 말씀을 받고 이것이 그런가 하여 날마다 성경을 상고하는”(행17:11) 사람들이었습니다. 날마다 함께 모여 성경을 상고하고 기도하는 삶! 이것이 하나님을 가까이 하고 사랑하며 하나님을 위한 길이라 할 수 있습니다. 본문 약4:7절에서도 “그런즉 너희는 하나님께 순복할지어다”라고 말씀하고 있습니다. 하나님의 말씀대로 살고, 말씀대로 지키고, 하나님의 말씀대로 열매를 맺는 삶, 이 세 가지를 종합해서 ‘순복’이라 합니다. 이처럼 말씀을 통해 하나님께 가까이 하는 사람들은 복이 있습니다(시73:28).

둘째, 하나님을 가까이 할 때 하나님은 능력으로 붙들어 주사 천국으로 인도해 주십니다. 시편 기자는 고백하기를 “내가 항상 주와 함께 하니 주께서 내 오른손을 붙드셨나이다”(시73:23)라고 하였습니다. 이처럼 우리가 하나님을 가까이 할 때 하나님께서는 우리를 붙들어 주십니다. 하나님의 창조의 손, 없는 것도 있게 하시는 손이 우리를 붙잡아 주실 때 그 어떤 불가능도 가능으로 바뀌게 됩니다. “나의 영혼이 주를 가까이 따르니 주의 오른 손이 나를 붙드시거니와”(시63:8)라는 말씀을 상고할 때, ‘붙들어준다’는 말 속에는 ‘책임져준다’는 의미가 있음을 깨닫게 됩니다.

나아가 하나님은 당신께 가까이 나아가는 성도들을 붙잡아줄 뿐 아니라 그 발걸음을 인도하사 천국에까지 이끄십니다. 하나님의 말씀은 우리의 앞길에 등불과 같아서 그 말씀으로 우리의 앞길을 환하게 밝혀 주시고 인도해 주십니다(잠6:23, 시119:105). 그 결과 에녹이 죽지 않고 천국으로 인도함을 받았다면, 오늘 하루도 주님과 가까이 함으로 날마다 동행하는 삶, 천국에 까지 인도함을 받는 삶을 사시기 바랍니다.

에녹과 같은 동행의 삶, 하나님께 가까이 나아가는 삶을 통해 하나님의 인도하심의 축복을 받아 누리를 하루가 되기를 위해 기도하십시오.

The word of Life

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded

Encoch was a man who walked with God for 300 years and recieved the calling to the heavens. Let us examine a life that is like Enoch's, a life that draws closer to God.

First, it is a life that is like the Berean Jews who confer to the Word of God. "they received the message with great eagerness and examined the scriptures everyday to see if what Paul said was true." (Acts 17:11) They gathered each day and read the Bible and lived a life of prayer! This is a life that draws near, loves and is for God. In today's main scripture reading; James 4:7 it is recorded "Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." As such we call the following things combined as "submission or obedience"; living according to the Word of God, keeping the Word and bearing fruit according to the Word of God. Likewise, the one who draws nearer to God through the Word is blessed (Psa 73:28).

Second, when we draw near to God, He will hold us with His power and lead us into heaven. The Psalmist confessed "Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand" (Psa 73:23). As such, when we draw near to God, God will hold us. When God's hand of creation, the hand that makes something from nothing will hold us and make the impossible into possible. As recorded in Psalms 68:8 "I cling to you; your right hand upholds me" we are able to understand that the word 'cling' entails that he will take 'responsibility' for us.

Furthermore, He not only holds onto those saints who come closer to Him but He also leads their footsteps into heaven. God enlightens our future path and guides us (Prov 6:23), Psa 119:105). Consequently, Enoch did not see death and was led into heaven. May you live a life that draws near to God, that always walks with the Lord and enters heaven.

Prayer Title

Pray that we will be able to live a life like Enoch that walked with God and drew closer to God, and be able to receive and enjoy the blessings of God's guidance.
