거룩한 옷을 입자

생명의 말씀

“내가 너를 권하노니 내게서 불로 연단한 금을 사서 부요하게 하고 흰 옷을 사서 입어 벌거벗은 수치를 보이지 않게 하고 안약을 사서 눈에 발라 보게 하라”

천지의 창조 과정에서 하나님께서 빛과 어두움을 구별하시고 예수 그리스도의 속죄의 피로 선과 악을 나누듯이 ‘거룩’은 하나님께서 당신의 자녀들을 세상으로부터 구별시키시는 표식입니다. 이를 비유적으로 표현한 것이 ‘거룩한 옷’을 입자는 말입니다.

성경을 보면 첫째 부활에 참예하는 자는 복되고 거룩하다고 말씀하고 있습니다(계20:6). 이 말은 ‘거룩’하지 않고서는 결코 첫째 부활의 영광에 참여할 수 없다는 뜻입니다. 그러므로 믿는 성도는 늘 지혜와 명철의 신을 받아 성별된 생활을 통해 거룩의 열매를 맺어가야 합니다. 계21:10절에 보면 성령께서 사도 요한을 ‘거룩한 성’ 예루살렘으로 데려갔다고 나와 있습니다. 이어서 11절 말씀에는 “불의한 자는 그대로 불의하고 더러운 자는 그대로 더럽고 의로운 자는 그대로 의를 행하고 거룩한 자는 그대로 거룩하게 하라”고 하였습니다. 이를 볼 때 ‘거룩’이야말로 구원의 중요한 조건이요 하나님의 거듭난 자녀로서의 표식임을 알 수 있습니다.

성경은 오직 물과 성령으로만이 거듭날 수 있다고 말씀하고 있습니다. 물과 성령으로 거듭난 사람만이 거룩하며 세상과 구별된 자녀인 것입니다. 그리고 구별된 사람은 그 입은 옷으로서 그 차이를 드러내게 마련입니다. 구약에서 제사장들이 특별한 예복을 입고, 에덴 동산에서 타락한 아담과 하와에게 특별히 가죽 옷을 지어서 입혀주셨듯이 거룩한 성도를 위해 하나님은 특별히 거룩한 옷을 허락하십니다. 그래서 사도바울은 롬13:14절에 “오직 주 예수 그리스도로 옷 입으라”고 권면하고 있는 것입니다. 해가 뜨면 치부가 드러나게 마련인 무화과 잎을 벗어 던지고 하나님께서 주신 거룩한 옷, 그리스도로 옷 입을 때 우리의 수치가 감춰지고(계3:18) 하나님의 자녀로서 합당한 삶을 살게 되는 것입니다.

<기도제목>

하나님이 원하시는 거룩의 옷을 입기 위해서는 우리 행실을 깨끗이 하여 물과 성령으로 거듭나야 합니다. 오늘 하루도 흰옷을 입은 거룩한 성도처럼 살아가도록 기도하십시오.

"I advise you to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness will not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see."

When the universe was created, God separated the light and darkness. Likewise, the redeeming blood of Jesus separated the good and evil. Holiness is a mark to separated God’s children from the world.

In the Bible, those who have a part in the first resurrection are blessed and holy (Revelation 20:60). This explains that only those who are holy are able to take part in the first resurrection. As Christians, with the spirit of wisdom and knowledge, let us live a life that is pure to bear holy fruits. In Revelations 21:10, the Spirit led Apostle John to a holy city, Jerusalem. Revelations 22:11 states, "Let the one who does wrong, still do wrong; and the one who is filthy, still be filthy; and let the one who is righteous, still practice righteousness; and the one who is holy, still keep himself holy." Holiness plays an essential role in achieving salvation to grant us a new life and new beginning.

Bible teaches that we are only reborn by water and Holy Spirit. Then we are holy and separated from this world. Our clothes will depict our separation from this world. In the Old Testament, the priests wore a special robe. In the Garden of Eden, God made special clothes out of leather for Adam and Eve. God has granted holy clothes for His holy people. Apostle Paul advises in Romans 13:14, But put on the Lord Jesus Christ. Take off the leaves of the figs that are dried under the sun and put on the God’s and Jesus’ holy clothes, then our nakedness will be covered (Revelations 13:18). We can live a proper life that is acceptable to God.

"Prayer Request"

In order for us to put God’s holy clothes, our actions need to be clean where we are reborn by water and Holy Spirit. Let us pray we are clothed with the white garments and live as holy people.
