문제해결의 원동력
눅7:13-15

생명의 말씀

“주께서 과부를 보시고 불쌍히 여기사 울지 말라 하시고 가까이 오사 그 관에 손을 대시니 맨 자들이 서는지라 예수께서 가라사대 청년아 내가 네게 말하노니 일어나라 하시매 죽었던 자기 일어앉고 말도 하거늘 예수께서 그를 어미에게 주신대”

누가복음 7장을 보면 나인성 과부의 아들이 죽어 장례행렬이 지나갈 때 예수님께서 과부의 애통하는 심령을 보시고 행렬을 멈추며 그 아들을 살려 주셨습니다. 이는 소망을 잃은 사람에게 다시 소망을 주시는 기적의 사건입니다. 또한 그 성품이 자비롭고 긍휼이 한이 없으신 예수님의 속성을 발견하게 됩니다. 이러한 예수님께서 오늘날 우리의 교회에도 말씀으로 찾아 오셔서 똑같은 소망을 주셨습니다. 그래서 슬픔에 잠겨 있는 자에게 오셔서 ‘울지 말라’ 선포하시는 것입니다.

나인성 과부의 아들을 살리신 사건을 볼 때 예수님의 자비와 긍휼이야말로 모든 사건해결의 본질임을 알 수 있습니다. 예수님께서 불쌍히 여기실 때, 긍휼이 여기시는 마음만 있으면 기적이 일어나며 문제해결의 축복이 주어지는 것입니다. 왜냐하면 모든 문제해결의 출발은 자비의 마음, 긍휼의 마음에서 비롯되기 때문입니다. 아무리 능력이 있고 권세가 있다 해도 그러한 마음이 되지 않으면 그 재능과 권한도 무용지물이 되고 맙니다. 그렇다면 우리들도 주님의 그러한 긍휼과 자비의 착한 마음을 가져야만 하겠습니다.

예수님께서 십자가 상에서 우리의 죄를 사해주신 것도, 사함받은 우리가 이웃에게 그러한 사랑을 베풀라는 뜻입니다. 예수님의 산상수훈 중 8복 중에 긍휼히 여기는 자의 복에 대해 말씀하고 있습니다(마5:7). 공동번역에 보면 “자비를 베푸는 사람은 행복하다 그들은 자비를 입을 것이다”라고 나와 있습니다. 한마디로 자비를 베푸는 자는 만사형통의 복을 받게 된다는 것입니다. 반면에 ‘무자비한 사람은 무자비한 심판’을 받게 됩니다(약2:13). 사도바울은 그리스도인이 품어야할 마음씨를 다음과 같이 요약하고 있습니다. “서로 친절히 불쌍히 여기며 하나님께서 그리스도 안에서 여러분들을 용서하심같이 서로 용서하십시오”(엡4:32).

<기도제목>

자비와 긍휼의 마음이야말로 모든 문제들을 해결할 수 있는 원동력입니다. 오늘 하루도 자비와 긍휼의 마음을 가지고 사람들을 용서하고 섬길 수 있도록 기도하십시오.

Driving Forces That Solve Our Problems
Luke 7:13-15

The Word of Life

"When the Lord saw her, He felt compassion for her, and said to her, "Do not weep." And He came up and touched the coffin; and the bearers came to a halt. And He said, "Young man, I say to you, arise!" The dead man sat up and began to speak. And Jesus gave him back to his mother."

Luke 7 describes the death of the son of a widow in the city of Nain. Jesus felt compassion for the widow and raise her son from the dead. This was a miracle to comfort the hopeless with hope. This incident also displayed Jesus’ endless mercy and compassion. Today, Jesus has arrived to our church with the same hope. To those who are weeping, Jesus is saying, “do not weep”.

The son of widow in the city of widow was raised from dead because of Jesus’ mercy and compassion. When Jesus felt compassion for her, His heart was moved with mercy whereby the miracle was performed to grant the blessing to solve the problem. Merciful and compassionate heart begins the resolution of our problems.

Regardless of how much authority and power you have, without a merciful and compassionate heart, they are useless. Then we need to seek after Jesus’ merciful and compassionate heart.

Jesus forgave all our sins at the cross so that we can display the same love to our neighbors. At the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus taught the 8 beatitudes and the 5th one is "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy (Matthew 5:7). This verse can be translated to “those who are merciful are filled with happiness and will wear mercy.”

Simply, for those who are merciful are surrounded with success in everything they do. Contrary, those who are merciless will face a merciless judgment (James 2:13). Apostle Paul advised what Christians need to plant in their hearts, Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you. (Ephesians 4:32).

"Prayer Request"

Mercy and compassion are the driving forces that solve our problems. Let us pray that our hearts are filled with mercy and compassion so that we can forgive and serve others.
