7일 속에 담긴 창조 원리
창 2:1-3

생명의 말씀

”천지와 만물이 다 이루어지니라 하나님이 그가 하시던 일을 일곱째 날에 마치시니 그가 하시던 모든 일을 그치고 일곱째 날에 안식하시니라 하나님이 그 일곱째 날을 복되게 하사 거룩하게 하셨으니 이는 하나님이 그 창조하시며 만드시던 모든 일을 마치시고 그 날에 안식하셨음이니라”

하나님의 창조는 일주일이라는 시간의 단위 속에서 이루어졌습니다. 오늘 본문은 6일 동안의 창조과정을 마치고 7일째는 안식하셨을뿐 아니라 그 날을 복주고 거룩하게 하셨다고 말씀하고 있습니다. 중요한 것은 하나님이 창조한 세계에 인류의 원수인 사단이 침범하여 훼손하였습니다. 인류 최초의 낙원인 에덴 동산을 파괴하였고, 하나님의 형상으로 창조한 아담에게 침범하여 죄를 범하도록 유혹했습니다. 그러나 이러한 사단의 침범이 미치지 못한 영역이 있다면 월요일부터 일요일까지 이어지는 일주일의 시간입니다. 그러므로 다른 모든 시간은 매번 변동이 있지만, 첫날부터 일곱째날로 이어지는 일주일 단위의 시간의 흐름은 창조 이후로 지금까지 변함없이 지켜지고 있습니다. 이러한 시간의 구분은 천문현상과 상관없이 지속되는 시간입니다. 이는 성부, 성자, 성령 삼위일체 하나님을 가리키는 3의 숫자와 동서남북 사방을 가리키는 땅의 수 4가 결합되어진 숫자입니다.

하나님은 일주일 단위의 시간 구분 중에서도 특별히 일곱째날인 안식일을 중요하게 여기셨습니다. 학자들 중에는 안식일의 기원을 가나안 족속들이 7일 단위로 지켰던 절기나 시장경제의 원리에 입각하여 7일 장 등에서 비롯되었다고 설명하기도 합니다. 하지만 이러한 이방 문화와 종교에 바탕을 두고 있는 안식일 기원은 근거가 부족하며 전혀 비성경적입니다. 하나님은 안식일을 통해 하나님과 백성 사이에 영원한 언약의 표를 주셨고, 안식일을 통해서 창조와 구속과 영원한 안식의 신학적 확신을 제시해 주고 있습니다.

이처럼 중요한 영적 의미가 담겨 있는 안식일은 절대 범해서는 안됩니다. 그것은 영원한 언약이기에 안식일을 기억하여 거룩하게 지킬뿐 아니라 하나님과 나 사이에 표징을 삼아야 합니다(출31:13-16, 겔20:12,20). 이를 위해 광야에서 만나를 내리실 때도 안식일을 중심으로 일주일 단위로 거두게 하셨던 것입니다.

<기도제목>

하나님과 나 사이의 영원한 언약의 표징인 안식일을 잘 기억하고, 거룩하게 지킴으로서 하나님께서 예비하신 축복을 받아 누릴 수 있도록 기도하십시오.

The Principle Hidden Within the Seven Day
Genesis 2:1-3

The Word of Life

“Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array.2 by the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing ;so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.3 Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.”

God’s creation was completed over a seven day week period. In today’s main scripture reading it is written that God completed His Work of creation for six days and on the seventh day He not only rested but also blessed that day and made it holy. The important fact here is that Satan intruded upon the world that God had created and damaged it. He destroyed the first paradise of mankind, the Garden of Eden and violated Adam who God had created in His image and tempted him to sin. However Satan’s intrusion is not possible on Sunday. Therefore all other times change but the flow of a seven day week which leads to Sunday has not changed and been observed until this day. The division of this time is continual regardless of all astronomical phenomena. The number seven is a number that is a combination of the number three that points to the trinity God; God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and number four, the number of the earth which refers to the four directions; north, south, east and west.

In classifying the time in the seven day week period, God considered the Sabbath day (the seventh day) the most important. Some theologians explain the origin of the Sabbath day based on the principle that the people of the tribe of Canaan kept festivals and the market economy every seven days. However, this explanation is not valid as it lacks evidence of the origins of the Sabbath day and is clearly non-biblical as it is based on the foundations of gentile cultures and religion. Through the Sabbath day, God is giving us a sign of His eternal covenant between His people and through the Sabbath day He is suggesting a theological conviction of creation, redemption, and eternal rest.

As such we mustn’t commit the sin of not keeping the Sabbath day. Because it is an eternal covenant we must remember the Sabbath day and not only keep it holy but consider it a sign between ourselves and God (Exo 31:13-16, Ezk 20:12-20). That is why when God rained manna over the wilderness, He made them collect it every week.

Prayer Title

Remember the Sabbath day which is a sign of the eternal covenant between you and God and by keeping it holy pray that you may be able to receive and enjoy the blessings that God has prepared for you.
