참된 부자
눅12:19-21

생명의 말씀

”또 내가 내 영혼에게 이르되 영혼아 여러 해 쓸 물건을 많이 쌓아 두었으니 평안히 쉬고 먹고 마시고 즐거워하자 하리라 하되 하나님은 이르시되 어리석은 자여 오늘 밤에 네 영혼을 도로 찾으리니 그러면 네 예비한 것이 뉘 것이 되겠느냐 하셨으니 자기를 위하여 재물을 쌓아 두고 하나님께 대하여 부요치 못한 자가 이와 같으니라”

어리석은 부자는 많은 물질을 쌓아두었지만 그것을 하나도 누리지 못하고 하나님의 부르심을 입었습니다. 당장 ‘오늘밤’ 일어날 일을 모르고 내일의 풍요와 누림을 생각하며 만족해하는 어리석은 자였습니다. 이 비유를 통해 예수님은 우리에게 참된 부자에 대하여 말씀하고 있습니다. 그것은 먼저 하나님께 대하여 부요한 자입니다. 이는 보물을 땅에 쌓아두지 않고 하늘에 쌓아두는 것을 말합니다. 땅에 쌓아둔 보물은 좀과 동록이 해아며 도적이 구멍을 뚫고 도적질하지만 하늘에는 그러한 해가 전혀 없습니다(마6:19-21). 중요한 것은 “네 보물 있는 그 곳에는 네 마음”도 있다는 점입니다. 어리석은 부자는 단순히 물질만 많이 쌓은 것이 문제가 아니라 그 마음과 생각이 하나님을 향하지 못한 것이 더 큰 문제였습니다. 진정한 부자는 “주는 것이 받는 것보다 복이 있다”(행20:35)는 사실을 깨닫고 “거저 받았으니 거저 주는 자”(마10:8)입니다. 나아가 자신의 영혼과 종말과 연한의 어떠함을 깨닫고(시39:4-7) 겸손히 하나님 앞에 서는 자입니다. 그러한 자는 물질이 아니라 오직 살아계신 하나님의 말씀만이 나를 진정으로 행복하게 해준다는 것을 깨닫고 “썩지 않고 더럽지 않고 쇠하지 아니하는 기업”(벧전1:3-4)을 잇게 하신 하나님을 의지하고 찬양하는 삶을 살아갑니다.

두 번째로 참된 부자는 인생의 참 보배되신 예수 그리스도를 소유한 자입니다. 예수님은 우리의 보배이며(벧전2:7), ‘보배로운 산 돌’(벧전2:4)일뿐 아니라 그분의 피는 ‘보배로운 피’(벧전1:19)입니다. 그러므로 예수를 믿는 믿음, 하나님을 기쁘시게 하는 믿음이야말로 인생 최고의 보배입니다(사33:6). 이 땅의 보배는 결코 만족이 없습니다. “은을 사랑하는 자는 은으로 만족이 없고 풍부를 사랑하는 자는 소득으로 만족함이 없는”(전5:10) 바닷물과 같습니다. 마실수록 더 갈증을 느껴 죽어가는 것이 바닷물이라면, 참 보배이신 예수 그리스도를 소유하므로 어리석은 부자가 아니라 참된 부자, 지혜로운 부자, 하나님의 영광을 소유한 부자가 되시기 바랍니다.

하나님께 대하여 부요하고, 세상 은금보화가 아니라 우리의 영원한 보배되신 예수 그리스도를 소유한 참된 부자가 되기 위하여 기도하십시오.

A True Rich Man
Luke 12:19-21

The Word of Life

And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.”But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’ “This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich toward God.”

The foolish rich man stored up for himself a lot of wealth but he couldn’t enjoy any of it and received God’s calling. He was a man who did not know what was going to happen tomorrow and was content only thinking about tomorrow’s abundance and wealth. Jesus is speaking to us through this parable about the true rich man. First, this person is rich towards God and doesn’t store up wealth on earth but up in heaven.

Wealth that is stored up on earth becomes moth-eaten and gets stolen by thieves but in heaven there are no such instances (Matt 6:19-21). The important this is “where our riches are our hearts are there too”. The foolish rich man’s problem was not only the fact that he stored up a lot of wealth but his greatest problem was that his heart and thoughts were not directed at God. A true rich man realizes that “giving is more blessed than receiving” (Acts 20:35) and “gives freely for he has received freely” (Matt 10:8). Furthermore, he realizes the end of his spirit and is aware of the end times (Psa 39:4-7) and humbly stands next to God. Such a man will be able to understand that it is not wealth and material possessions but only the Word of God that will bring true happiness and lives a life of relying and praising God who gives us “an eternal inheritance that does not decay, wear out or become tarnished”.

Second, a true rich man possesses Jesus Christ who is the true jewel of life. Jesus is not only our jewel (1 Pet 2:7), and ‘precious living stone’ (1 Pet 2:4) but his blood is also a ‘precious blood’ (Isa 33:6) All the precious jewel’s of this earth cannot give us satisfaction. “the one who loves silver cannot be satisfied with silver and the one who loves abundance cannot be satisfied with ones earnings” (Prov 5:10). It is like sea water. When we drink sea water it will continue to make us feel thirst and not quench it, however by possessing Jesus Christ who is the true jewel, may you become a true, wise rich man; a rich man who possesses the glory of God.

Prayer Title

May you be rich to God and pray that you may be able to become a true rich man that possesses Jesus Christ who is the eternal jewel.
