하나님의 사람이 있는 곳
삼상19:18

생명의 말씀

“다윗이 도피하여 라마로 가서 사무엘에게로 나아가서 사울이 자기에게 행한 일을다 고하였고 다윗과 사무엘이 나욧으로 가서 거하였더라”

오늘 본문은 사울 왕의 칼을 피해 도망다니던 다윗이 사무엘 선지자가 있는 ‘라마 나욧’으로 가서 거하였을 때, 이 소식을 들은 사울 왕이 사람들을 보내었지만 그들이 다윗은 잡아오지 않고 하나님의 신이 임해서 예언을 하였다는 내용을 말해주고 있습니다. 이는 사무엘 선지자같이 영적인 지도자가 있는 곳이야말로 신약교회같은 신앙의 공동체요 말씀의 역사와 문제해결의 장소라는 것을 말해주고 있습니다. 따라서 다윗과 같이 하나님의 사람’이 있는 곳으로 피하는 역사가 있어야겠습니다.

‘라마 나욧’은 그야말로 문제가 해결되는 장소입니다. 다윗이 사울을 피해 도망갈 때 기왕이면 예루살렘으로 갈 수도 있습니다. 그곳은 자기 고향이기 때문에 많은 친척과 지지자들이 있습니다. 인간적인 도움을 받을 수 있는 곳입니다. 그럼에도 불구하고 보잘 것 없는 라마의 사무엘에게로 도피한 이유는 무엇입니까? 히브리 원어로 볼 때 ‘라마’는 ‘높은 곳’이라는 뜻이며 ‘나욧’은 숙소나 거주지를 말합니다. 영적으로 볼 때도 그곳은 거룩한 하나님의 사람, 사무엘 선지자가 기거하는 곳이기 때문에 높은 곳입니다.

이 라마 나욧으로 도피한 것은 세상의 권력이나 권세자에게 기댄 것이 아니라 하나님의 날개 그늘 아래 피한 것입니다. 하나님의 말씀이 주의 날개요 주의 기름부은 종이 주의 날개입니다. 인생이 이처럼 주의 날개 그늘 아래 피할 때 문제를 해결받고 안전히 거하게 됩니다(시36:7, 시57:1). 그곳은 “나를 눈동자 같이 지키시고 주의 날개 아래 감추사 환난을 모면케 해주는 곳”입니다(시17:8).

The Word of Life

"Now David fled and escaped and came to Samuel at Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him. And he and Samuel went and stayed in Naioth."

In today’s scripture, David fled and escaped the sword of king Saul and came to Samuel at Ramah Naioth. Once king Saul heard that David was there, he sent his soldiers to take him away, but they returned prophesying instead. This is because they saw the company of prophets prophesying with Samuel standing and presiding over them. David was able to escape from king Saul’s hands because of the presence of man of God.

Ramah Naioth is a place where problems are resolved. David could have fled and escaped to Jerusalem, his hometown with many relatives. Why do you think David fled to Ramah Naioth instead? In Hebrew, Ramah means high place and Naioth means lodging. From a spiritual point of view, Ramah Naioth is a holy and high place where Samuel, man of God resided.

Samuel prayed for David as he fled and escaped from king Saul. When Saul and his soldiers came to capture David, their words disappeared and were filled with Samuel’s words. David fled to Ramah Naoith so he can be under the shadow of God’s wings instead of relying on world’s power and protection. God’s words and His anointed servants are His wings. When we run to the shadow of God’s wings then all our problems are resolved (Psalms 36:7, Psalms 57:1).

Psalms 17:8 states Keep me as the apple of the eye; Hide me in the shadow of Your wings.

Let us pray that we do not rely on man’s help but flee to the place where Man of God is so that our problems are resolved.
