무리가 먹고 남으리라
왕하4:42-44

생명의 말씀

“한 사람이 바알 살리사에서부터 와서 처음 익은 식물 곧 보리떡 이십과 또 자루에 담은 채소를 하나님의 사람에게 드린지라 저가 가로되 무리에게 주어 먹게 하라 그 사환이 가로되 어찜이니이까 이것을 일백명에게 베풀겠나이까 하나 엘리사는 또 가로되 무리에게 주어 먹게 하라 여호와의 말씀이 무리가 먹고 남으리라 하셨느니라 저가 드디어 무리 앞에 베풀었더니 여호와의 말씀과 같이 다 먹고 남았더라”

오병이어의 기적을 생각할 때마다 인간의 좁은 소견으로는 어린 아이가 드린 하찮은 양식이 문제해결에 아무런 도움이 되지 못할 것으로 여겨집니다. 하지만 하나님께는 모든 것이 가능합니다. 그러므로 우리 성도들이 살아가는 것은 보이는 떡으로 사는 것보다 하나님의 입으로 나오는 말씀의 능력으로 사는 것입니다.

왕하4:42-44절 말씀을 볼 때도 한 사람이 보리떡 이십과 자루에 담은 채소를 하나님의 사람에게 드릴 때 일백 명이 먹고 남는 일이 있었습니다. 사람들이 볼 때는 “어찜이니이까 이것을 일백 명에게 베풀겠나이까?” 의심할 수 밖에 없지만 엘리사 선지자는 다음과 같이 답변하고 있습니다. “여호와의 말씀에 무리가 먹고 남으리라 하셨느니라”. 이와 같이 아무리 적은 물질이라 할지라도 하나님의 말씀 한마디면 필요한 대로 공급되는 능력이 일어납니다. 사람들은 떡을 먹고 배부르면 그것으로 해결된 줄 알지만, 전부다 착각입니다. 떡을 먹고 배부른 다음에 오는 영적인 굶주림을 깨닫지 못합니다. 육신은 떡을 먹어야 살지만 우리의 속 사람은 하나님의 말씀을 먹어야 산다는 것을 깨달아야만 합니다. 그러므로 사람은 떡으로만 사는 존재가 아닙니다. 그 이유는 사람이 물질로 지음받은 존재가 아니라 하나님의 말씀으로, 하나님의 형상으로 지음받았기 때문입니다.

그러므로 사람은 땅과 하늘 가운데 충만한 진선미의 조화를 만끽하며 사는 존재들입니다. 하나님의 형상을 입은 사람들은 신령한 예배와 참회와 환희와 찬송으로 살아간다고 말씀하고 있습니다. 하나님을 사랑하고 하나님 앞에 경배하며 하나님의 뜻을 받들기 위해 안타깝게 몸부림치고 기도하면서 말씀의 떡을 먹고 살라고 우리를 이 땅에 보내 주셨습니다. 그럼에도 불구하고 기도의 숨도 쉬지 않고, 말씀의 떡도 먹지 않고 고작 보리 떡 다섯 개, 물고기 두 마리에 집착하며 살아간다면 얼마나 불쌍한 존재입니까?

<기도제목>

여러분은 지금 몇 개의 떡을 가지고 있습니까? 아무리 하찮고 적은 양의 떡이라 해도 주 앞에 드리기만 하면 넉넉하게 먹고도 남음이 있는 역사가 일어납니다. 이처럼 오병이어의 기적을 체험하며 살아갈 수 있도록 기도하십시오.

The Word of Life

A man came from Baal Shalishah, bringing the man of God twenty loaves of barley bread baked from the first ripe grain, along with some heads of new grain. “Give it to the people to eat,” Elisha said. “How can I set this before a hundred men?” his servant asked. But Elisha answered, “Give it to the people to eat. For this is what the Lord says: ‘They will eat and have some left over.’” Then he set it before them, and they ate and had some left over, according to the word of the Lord.

When we think of the miracle of the five loaves of bread and two fish, we as humans would not consider a young child's offering of food to be helpful. However, all things are possible with God. Therefore, saints do not live on bread alone but through the power of the Word that comes out from the mouth of God.

When we read 2 Kings 4:42-44 we see that when one man gave 20 loaves of barley bread and along with the heads of new grain it fed 100 people and left over a remained. People may doubt "how can I set this before a hundred men?" but the prophet Elisha answered “Give it to the people to eat. For this is what the Lord says: ‘They will eat and have some left over'".

As such, no matter how small the crowd may be, if they have the Word of God, then the power of the Word will provide according to our needs. People think that if we eat bread our hunger will be relieved, however that is a misconception.

They do not realize the spiritual hunger that follows once we are full after you eat. The flesh needs food to survive but we must understand that our inner being can only live by consuming the Word of God. Thus man does not live on bread alone as man has been created in the image of God and not through materialistic things.

Therefore, man is a being that enjoys the combination of truth, good and beauty that is abundant amongst the heavens and the earth. It is written that humans who have been clothed in God's image live by worshipping in spirit and in truth, repentance, joy and grace. God has sent us to love Him, and worship Him and uphill His will by eating the bread of the Word through prayer. Then how pitiful are we if we do not even breathe through prayer, and not eat the bread of the Word and rather than cling onto the two pieces of fish?

Prayer Title

How many loaves of bread do you have? No matter how small the amount of bread may be, if you offer it up to God then there will be a bountiful of food and left over. As such, pray that you may be able to experience the miracle of the five loaves of bread and two pieces of fish.
