기도로 구할 마음이 생겼나이다
대상17:25-27

생명의 말씀

“나의 하나님이여 주께서 종을 위하여 집을 세우실 것을 이미 듣게 하셨으므로 주의 종이 주 앞에서 이 기도로 구할 마음이 생겼나이다 여호와여 오직 주는 하나님이시라 주께서 이 좋은 것으로 주의 종에게 허락하시고 이제 주께서 종의 집에 복을 주사 주 앞에 영원히 두시기를 기뻐하시나이다 여호와여 주께서 복을 주셨사오니 이 복을 영원히 누리리이다 하니라”

예수님의 생애는 시종일관 기도로 시작해서 기도로 진행하고 기도로 마치는 기도의 삶이었습니다. 이것이 믿는 성도의 삶이 되어야 합니다. 그러면 이처럼 기도하는 사람에게 주시는 하나님의 은총은 무엇일까요?

첫째, 사죄의 은총이 주어집니다. 성도의 삶이란 일정한 시간을 정해서 하는 기도뿐 아니라 마음으로 기도하고 영으로 기도함으로 ‘무시로’ 기도해야 합니다. 평소에 꾸준하게 기도하다 위급한 일이 생겼을 경우에는 그야말로 ‘비상기도’를 통해 문제를 해결해야 합니다. 이러한 응답과 문제해결의 축복은 평소에 꾸준한 기도의 삶을 통하지 않고는 불가능합니다. 그러므로 무시로 기도하는 성도는 ‘죄 없이함’을 받아 ‘유쾌’한 삶을 살아가는 축복을 받게됩니다(행3:19). 이것이 기도를 통해 얻는 사죄의 은총입니다.

둘째, 성결한 삶을 살게 됩니다. 구원받은 성도라 해도 살아가면서 죄악의 그림자가 없을 수는 없습니다. 그러나 꾸준히 기도하는 사람은 순간순간 다가오는 죄악의 그림자를 물리쳐 성결한 삶을 살 수 있습니다. 진정한 의미의 성결이란 ‘악한 길’에서 떠나는 것을 말하기 때문에 본문 말씀처럼 기도하면 “악한 길에서 떠나 스스로 겸비한” 삶을 살아가게 되는 것입니다.

셋째, 승리의 삶을 살게 됩니다. 왜냐하면 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 기도할 때 하나님은 ‘이김’을 허락하시기 때문입니다(고전15:57). 그러므로 성도의 삶에 있어서 승리의 비결은 ‘기도’입니다. 강력한 기도는 강력한 승리를 가져다주며 승리의 삶의 기초가 됩니다. 나아가 기도로 승리하는 성도의 삶의 현장에는 그리스도를 아는 냄새가 나타나게 됩니다(고후2:14). 이것이 성도가 내뿜어야 하는 기도의 ‘향기’이며 그리스도를 드러내는 냄새가 돼야 합니다.

어떠한 어려움과 문제가 있다할지라도 다윗과 같이 기도로 구할 마음을 먹고 간구함으로 사죄의 은총, 성결한 삶, 승리의 삶을 사는 축복을 얻도록 기도하십시오.

1 Chronicles 17:25-27

The Word of Life

“You, my God, have revealed to your servant that you will build a house for him. So your servant has found courage to pray to you. You, Lord, are God! You have promised these good things to your servant. Now you have been pleased to bless the house of your servant, that it may continue forever in your sight; for you, Lord, have blessed it, and it will be blessed forever.”

Prayer was continuous during Jesus’ life and it started and ended with prayer, and proceeded and ended with prayer. This must be the life a believer must employ. Then what I the grace that God bestows upon people who pray like this?

First, they are given the blessing of forgiveness. A life of a saint must not only comprise of allotting a specific time of prayer but also praying ‘constantly’ through ones’ heart, and spirit. We must prayer continuously every day and pray harder through ‘emergency prayer’ when we are faced with an urgent situation. Such answers and problem solving are impossible without a continuous life of prayer. Therefore, a saint who prays continuously will receive atonement for his/her sins and the blessing of living a ‘joyous’ life (Acts 3:19). This is the blessing of atonement that is attained through prayer.

Second, they live a life of consecration. Even though a saint has received salvation his/her life cannot be void of the shadows of sin. However, the person who continuously prays can live a life of consecration by casting out the shadows of sin that penetrates into his/her life. The true meaning of consecration is ‘departing from the path of

evil’ hence when we pray just like in today’s main scripture reading we are able to live a life that has “departed from the path of evil”.

Third, they are able to live a life of victory. This is because when we pray in the name of Jesus Christ God allows ‘victory’ (1 Cor 15:57). Therefore, the secret to victory in a saint’s life is ‘prayer’. Strong prayer brings us strong victory and becomes the foundation of a victorious life. Furthermore, the aroma of knowing Christ is evident in the life of a saint who gains victory through prayer (2 Cor 2:14). This must be the ‘aroma’ that a saint must let out and become the aroma that reveals Christ.

Whatever difficulties or problems you may have, by praying like David and having the heart to seek, pray that you will be able to receive the blessing of living a life of the grace of atonement, life of consecration, and life of victory.
