창 3:19

생명의 말씀

“네가 얼굴에 땀이 흘러야 식물을 먹고 필경은 흙으로 돌아 가리니 그 속에서 네가 취함을 입었음이라 너는 흙이니 흙으로 돌아갈 것이니라 하시니라”

이 세상의 모든 문제는 언제나 ‘본래’ 속에 답을 갖고 있습니다. 그러나 사람들은 드러난 현상에서 답을 찾으려 하기 때문에 늘 실패하는 것입니다. 하나님은 타락한 아담에게 “너는 흙이니 흙으로 돌아가라”(창3:19)고 하였습니다. 흙은 인간의 본래입니다. 그 본래로 돌아가라는 말씀을 통해서 문제 해결의 실마리를 제시하신 것입니다. 흙과 같은 연약한 육신, 붉은 몸둥아리(赤身, 적신)에 불과한 죄악된 인류의 현실을 자각할 때 어떤 형편에서도 하나님을 원망하지 않고 승리할 수 있습니다. 욥이 이를 일깨워주고 있지 않습니까?(욥1:21)

아담이 돌아갈 본래는 단지 흙의 상태로 썩어지는 것이 아니라 창조의 본래, 인류가 돌아가야할 근본의 상태를 말합니다. 그 상태는 하나님께서 말씀으로 우주를 창조하신 것이기에 ‘말씀의 본래’를 가리킵니다. 예수께서 십자가에 달려 죽으신 후 실의에 빠진 두 제자가 다시 고향으로 돌아갑니다. 도중에 부활하신 주께서 나타나셔서 말씀을 풀어 설명해 주실 때 그들의 마음이 뜨거워 다시 예루살렘으로 돌아갔습니다(눅24:13-35). 육신의 고향이 아니라 ‘말씀의 본래’로 되돌아 간 것입니다. 본질에서 벗어난 것은 실의와 좌절을 안겨주지만 본래의 세계는 언제나 가슴을 뜨겁게 합니다. 새로운 용기와 도전을 심어줍니다.

인간사회의 다툼은 이해부족에서 오는 것입니다. 이해의 부족은 오해와 다툼과 분열을 낳습니다. 가시와 엉겅퀴만이 가득 찬 세상과 같습니다. 그러나 본래 세상은 하나님의 걸작품이요 창조의 아름다움이 충만한 곳이었습니다. 그곳은 참된 사랑과 용서가 있었습니다. 변함없는 그 사랑은 처음과 나중이요 알파와 오메가입니다. 우리의 죄를 사하시고 품어주시는 하나님의 사랑은 부모의 사랑처럼 변함없는 본래의 속성입니다. 탕자가 아버지께로 돌아가듯, 타락한 인류가 아버지께로 돌아가는 것이 역사의 본래요 종교의 본래입니다. 그 본래로 돌아가는 ‘길’이 바로 진리와 생명되시는 예수님입니다(요14:6).

인간의 참된 본래는 성경의 거울을 통해 찾을 수 있습니다. 타락한 인류가 잃어버린 본래의 형상을 회복하도록, 하나니은 당신의 형상으로 예수를 보내어 주셨습니다. 본래대로 계셨던 예수님을 통해 나의 본래 형상을 되찾으시길 바라겠습니다.

‘말씀의 본래’로 돌아가 타락 전 본래의 모습을 회복하고, 아버지 품에서 아들의 지위와 영광을 회복할 수 있도록 기도하십시오.

The Word of Life

“By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return”

All the answers to the problems of this world can be found within ‘origins’. However people try and find the answers in the physical things that appear to them and therefore always fail. God said to Adam who fell “for you are dust you will return to dust” (Gen 3:19). Dust is the origin of mankind. Through the Word that told Adam to return to his original state God was introducing the solution in solving the problem. When we realise the reality of sinful mankind that is but dust; like a weak, naked body, we are able to gain victory in all circumstances without grumbling against God. Isn’t Job awakening us to this fact? (Job 1:21).

The origins to which Adam had to return was not just disappearing into the form of dust but rather it refers to the state of God’s original creation; ‘the origin of the Word’ where God created the heavens and the earth through the Word. After Jesus is crucified on the cross, in despair, two of his disciples return to their hometowns. On their way Jesus, resurrected, appears before them and speaks to them about the Word. Their hearts become fervent once again and they return to Jerusalem (Luke 24:13-35). They did not return to the hometown of their flesh but to ‘the origin of the Word’. Things that stray away from its origin give us despair and failure but the world of the original state always makes our heart blaze with ferventness, sprouts up in our hearts a new courage and challenge.

The quarrels amongst people in our society come from a lack of understanding. A Lack in understanding gives birth to misunderstandings, quarreling and division. It is like a world that is full of thorns and thistles. However, the world was originally a God work of art and a place that was full of the beauties of creation. That place had true love and forgiveness. That unchanging love was the first and the last, alpha and omega. God’s love that forgives our sins and embraces us is like the original love of a parent that never changes. Just like the Prodigal Son returned to his father, the return of fallen mankind to the Father is the original history, the origin of religion. The ‘path’ to returning to that origin is Jesus Christ who is the truth and life (John 14:6).

The true origin of man can be discovered through the mirror in the Bible. God sent Jesus Christ in His image in order to help fallen mankind restore its original image. May you regain your original state through Jesus who exists in his original state.

Prayer Title

Pray that you may return to the ‘origin of the Word’, become restored into the image before the fall and restore the position of the Son within the bosom of the Father.
