하나님의 소원은 경건한 자손을 얻는 것

말2:15-16

생명의 말씀

“여호와는 영이 유여하실지라도 오직 하나를 짓지 아니하셨느냐 어찌하여 하나만 지으셨느냐 이는 경건한 자손을 얻고자 하심이니라 그러므로 네 심령을 삼가 지켜 어려서 취한 아내에게 궤사를 행치 말지니라”

하나님께서 영이 유여(有餘)하실지라도 오직 하나만 지으신 이유는 그를 통해 경건한 자을 얻고자 함이었습니다. 우리의 가정에 자녀를 허락하시고 이를 양육할 책임을 부모들에게 주셨다면, 자녀들을 하나님께서 원하시는 경건한 자손으로 양육할 사명이 부모들에게 있는 것입니다. 그러면 어떻게 할 때 하나님께서 기뻐하시는 경건한 자녀로 양육할 수 있을까요?

하나님의 말씀만이 자녀를 경건하게 양육하는 길입니다. 하나님에 대해서, 예수 그리스도에 대해서 분명하게 가르쳐 줄 때 절대로 그 자녀들이 곁길로 빠져서 부모의 근심거리가 되지 않습니다. 보디발의 아내의 유혹을 물리친 요셉의 말에 귀를 기울여봅시다. “내가 어찌 이 큰 악을 행하여 하나님께 득죄하리이까?”(창39:9) 그가 얼마나 철두철미하게 말씀으로 양육받았으면 유혹의 현장에서 이처럼 말씀으로 승리할 수 있었겠습니까? 하나님은 이러한 자손을 찾으십니다. 그러나 교회에서 하나님의 말씀으로 양육받은 자녀들 중에 적지않는 수의 문제아들이 존재한다는 사실에 큰 충격을 받게 됩니다. 왜 그렇습니까? 대부분의 상담 결과는 부모들의 이중성 때문이라는 충격적인 보고를 해주고 있습니다. 자녀에게는 하나님의 말씀을 가르치지만 자신은 세상의 가치기준에 맞춰 살아가는 부모들의 이중적 태도야말로 자녀교육에 있어서는 극약과 같은 역할을 합니다.

바울의 사랑을 받았던 믿음의 아들 디모데는 부모의 헌신적인 사랑과 오직 하나님만을 향하는 순전한 믿음의 계승자였습니다(딤후1:1-5). 외조모 로이스와 어머니 유니게의 청결한 양심, 거짓 없는 믿음이 디모데에게 유산으로 물려졌던 것입니다. 이러한 신앙의 대물림이야말로 가장 귀하고 값진 재산입니다. 자녀를 위해 눈물의 기도를 뿌리고, 간사함이 없는 정직을 심어주며 책임성 있는 인격으로 양육해 주는 것, 이것이 바로 하나님의 경건한 자손으로 양육하는 비결입니다.

나의 신앙과 양심이 하나님에게나 사람에게 떳떳할 정도로 온전하여져서 자녀들이 나를 통해 하나님의 사랑과 뜻을 깨달아 경건한 자손이 될 수 있도록 기도하십시오.



The Hope of God is to Gain Goly Descendants

Malachi 2:15-16

The Word of Life

15 Has not the one God made you? You belong to him in body and spirit. And what does the one God seek? Godly offspring. So be on your guard, and do not be unfaithful to the wife of your youth.16 “The man who hates and divorces his wife,” says the Lord, the God of Israel, “does violence to the one he should protect,” says the Lord Almighty. So be on your guard, and do not be unfaithful.

The reason God created one man even though His spirit was plentiful was to gain holy people through him. When God provides our family with children then that means that the responsibility to nurture and raise the child belongs to the parent. Then how can we raise our children into holy descendants that God is pleased with?

Only the Word of God can nurture our children to be holy. When we teach our children about God and Jesus Christ then those children will not stray aside and become a concern to their parents. Let us head our ears to the words of Joseph that overcame the temptation of Potipher’s wife. “How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?” (Gen 39:9). Didn’t Joseph overcome temptation and gain victory through the Word because he was completely nurtured and raised through the Word of God? God seeks descendants like Joseph.

However, shockingly we are able to see many problematic children that exist within the church among children who have been nurtured and raised through the Word of God. Why is this so? The result of a majority of interviews with parents indicates that it is in fact the outcome of the parents’ duplicity. They teach God’s Word to their children but they still live according to the ideals and standards of the world which is a great negative actor in the education of our children.

Timothy, the son of faith who was loved by Paul was a successor of faith loved his parents and had a pure heart that only headed towards God (2 Tim 1:1-5). He had inherited his grandmother Lois and Eunice’s pure conscience and honest faith. Such passing down of faith is the greatest and worthy inheritance. The secret to nurturing and raising your children into God’s holy children is by sowing teary prayers, instilling honesty that has no falsehood and nurturing them into people with responsible character.

Prayer Title

Pray that your faith and conscience may become complete so that you’ll be more confident before God and people so that your children will realise the love and meaning of God’s love and become holy descendants of God.
