구원을 주시는 하나님의 능력
롬1:16

생명의 말씀

“내가 복음을 부끄러워하지 아니하노니 이 복음은 모든 믿는 자에게 구원을 주시는 하나님의 능력이 됨이라 첫째는 유대인에게요 또한 헬라인에게로다”

본문 롬1:16절 말씀을 볼 때 사도바울은 복음을 가리켜 “모든 믿는 자에게 구원을 주시는 하나님의 능력”이라고 하였습니다. 복음은 예수님 자신이고, 그 복음 속에는 예수님의 의와 능력이 깃들어 있기 때문에 복음이야말로 구원을 주시는 하나님의 능력인 것입니다. 이 복음을 증거하고, 택함받은 백성들이 복음에 초대되어 그리스도를 영접하도록 전파할 사명이 성도에게 있는 것입니다.

기차의 차량이 서로 연결돼 있는 것처럼 복음은 즐거움과 기쁨, 죄인의 용서와 값없는 구원, 참 평안과 영원한 생명이 서로 연결돼 있습니다. 그래서 오늘 본문에 보면 복음을 가리켜 ‘하나님의 복음’(살전2:2, 롬1:1, 15:16)이라 하였습니다. 또한 빌1:27절에 보면 ‘그리스도의 복음’이라 하였습니다. 복음을 전하면 받는 사람들이 은혜를 받기 때문에 ‘은혜의 복음’(행20:24)이기도 합니다. 하나님의 친서를 전달할 때 은혜를 받음으로 구원을 얻기에 ‘구원의 복음’(엡1:13)입니다. 이 구원은 모든 사람에게 주신 하나님의 선물이기에 ‘천하 만민의 복음’(골1:23)입니다. 천하 모든 사람들이 복음을 받게 되면 마음의 평안을 얻기에 ‘평안의 복음’(엡6:15)입니다. 그렇기 때문에 결론적으로 복음은 ‘영원한 복음’(계14:6)입니다.

이처럼 복음은 다양한 은사와 능력과 모양을 지닌 종합 영양제와 같습니다. 이 복음을 받게 되면 마음에 평안을 얻고 영원한 생명과 소망을 얻는 가운데 범사에 승리적으로 힘차게 살아갈 수가 있습니다. 복음은 우리의 소망이며 힘이며 구원의 능력입니다. 이 복음이 있을 때 분별의 능력이 생겨 생명과 썩어질 것을 구분할 수 있습니다(딤후1:10). 복음을 믿을 때 인생은 죽음으로 끝나는 것이 아니라 오히려 새로운 시작을 출발하며 영원한 천국의 축복을 누리게 됩니다. 그래서 복음은 하나님의 능력이요 힘입니다.

복음은 기차의 객차를 이끄는 화차와 같아서 다양한 은사와 능력과 모양을 가져다 줍니다. 이 좋은 복음의 말씀을 받고, 깨닫고, 증거할 수 있도록 기도하시시오.

The word of Life

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek."

In the scripture reading, Romans 1:16, Apostle Paul described the gospel as for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes. The gospel is Jesus itself, it also contains the power of God therefore granting us the salvation. It is our duty to testify the gospel to God’s chosen people so that they can accept Him.

As the cars of a train are connected, the gospel connects happiness to joy, forgiveness of sinners to salvation, and peace to eternal life. Therefore the scripture reading states the gospel as gospel of God (1 Thessalonians 2:2, Romans 1:1, 15:16). Philippians 1:27 describes the gospel as gospel of Christ. When you spread the gospel, those who receive it are blessed with grace, where it is called gospel of grace (Acts 20:24). As you listen to the message of truth, grace is abounded to receive salvation, calling it gospel of salvation (Ephesians 1:13). This gospel is a gift from God, gospel of creation (Colossians 1:23). When people receive the gospel, there is sense of peace in their heart, gospel of peace (Ephesians 6:15). In conclusion, the gospel is also called eternal gospel (Revelations 14:6).

The gospel can be compared to a multivitamin; it comes with various powers and gifts. When you receive the gospel, your heart is at peace gaining eternal life and hope leading to a victorious life. Gospel is our hope, strength, and power of salvation. When you have the gospel, you are strengthened where life and death are separated (2 Timothy 1:10). By believing in the gospel, your life will not end in death, but with a new fresh beginning, enjoying the blessings of heaven. That is why gospel is power of God.

Gospel is like a connector of a train, it comes with various powers and gifts. Let us pray that we can receive this great gospel, to understand and spread it.
