생명의 말씀

“안식일이 다하여가고 한식 후 첫날이 되려는 미명에 막달라 마리아와 다른 마리아가 무덤을 보려고 왔더니 큰 지진이 나며 주의 천사가 하늘로서 내려와 돌을 굴려 내고 그 위에 앉았는데”

하나님께서 복주신 날, 안식일은 성도에게 있어 반드시 ‘기억하여’ 거룩히 지켜야 하는 날입니다. ‘기억하라’는 말은 히브리어 ‘자카르’로서 “언제나 유념해 두다, 뚫다, 깊이 감동하다”라는 뜻이 있습니다. 이를 볼 때 안식일을 ‘기억하여’ 지킨다는 것은 하나님의 말씀으로 나를 관통해서 꿰뚫듯이 깊은 감동과 은혜로 지키는 것을 말합니다. 또한 그 날은 ‘복된 날’, ‘하나님의 날’입니다. 따라서 피조물이 모든 주권자가 되시는 하나님 앞에 엎드리는 날입니다. 그래야 하나님께서 “내 안식일을 기억하는구나!”라고 생각하십니다. 부모님의 환갑이나 생신 등 잔치자리에 자식들이 빠지면 신경을 쓸 수밖에 없습니다. 그러나 바쁜 일 제쳐두고 참석했을 때 “네가 나를 잊지 않고 와줬구나” 기억해 주십니다. 마찬가지로 온전한 주일성수는 하나님을 공경하는 행위입니다(레19:30, 26:2).

또한 안식일은 불신자와 신자를 구별하는 날입니다. 신약에서는 세례와 성찬, 주일 성수를 통해서, 구약에서는 할례와 유월절과 안식일을 통해 신자와 불신자를 구별하는 표징으로 삼았습니다. 특별히 안식일의 유래는 하나님께서 종되었던 땅에서 인도하여 내신 것을 기념한 날입니다(신5:15). 그러므로 애굽에 대한 하나님의 승리를 기념하는 날입니다. 그러므로 430년 만에 큰 구원을 주신 하나님을 기억하고 그 승리를 기념해야 됩니다. 신약의 주일은 하나님의 아들 그리스도께서 사망 권세를 깨뜨리고 부활하신 날입니다. 구약과 신약 모두 승리의 날입니다. 430년 애굽 종살이에 대해, 영원한 사망권세에 대해 승리한 날입니다.

그러나 차이가 있다면 구약의 안식일은 일주일의 마지막 날이고 신약의 주일은 첫째 날입니다. 구약의 안식일은 창조사역이 끝났기 때문에 기념한 날이고, 신약의 주일은 구속사의 성취, 사망 권세를 깨뜨리고 부활하신 것을 기념한 날이기 때문입니다. 사도 요한은 ‘주의 날’(계1:10)에 성령의 감동을 통해 종말에 되어질 계시를 받았습니다. 이 복된 승리의 날, 주일에 하나님 앞에 감사함으로 나아올 때 마귀가 틈 탈 기회가 없이 범사에 승리할 줄로 믿습니다(엡4:27).

<기도제목>

구약의 안식일과 신약의 주일이 모두 승리의 날임을 깨닫고, 온전한 주일 성수를 위해 범사에 승리하는 삶을 살아갈 수 있도록 기도하십시오.

The Word of Life

"After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it."

The day God has blessed, the Sabbath day is a day that must be 'remembered' by saints and kept holy. To 'remember' in Hebrew is 'Jakar' which means 'to always keep in mind, penetrate, and be deeply inspired'. Furthermore, that day is a 'blessed day', 'God's day'. As such, it is a day when all creation bow before God who is the governor of all things. That is the only way God will recognize that we are keeping His day of rest. For example if your children didn't show up on your birthday then you'd be upset. However, when we show up our parents would be pleased that their children remembered them. Likewise, keeping the Sabbath day completely is an act of honoring God (Lev 19:30,26:2).

Moreover, the Sabbath day is a day to differentiate from non believers and believers. In the New Testament times, they used baptism and keeping the Sabbath day as a sign to separate the saints from non believers and in the Old Testament times they used the Passover and the Sabbath day. Especially, the origin of the Sabbath day is the day which commemorates the day God took the Israelites out from the land they were enslaved to (Deut 5:15).

Therefore, it is a day that commemorates God's victory over Egypt thus we must remember the God who gave us great salvation in 430 years and commemorate that victory. The Sabbath day in the New Testament is the day Jesus Christ broke the power of death and authority. Both the Old and New Testament are days of victory. It is a day of eternal victory from 430 years of slavery in Egypt.

However there is a difference as the Sabbath in the Old Testament is the last day of the week and in the New Testament it is the first day. The Sabbath in the OT is a day to commemorate the completion of the work of creation, and in the NT it is the day that commemorates the fulfillment of the history of redemption and the day of Jesus' resurrection. The apostle John received the revelation of what would happen in the end times on the 'Lord's day' through the inspiration of the Holy spirit (Rev 1:10). When we come forth to God with thanksgiving on this blessed Lord's day we believe that we will always be victorious without a chance for Satan to hinder us (Eph 4:27).

Prayer Title

Pray that you will be able to realize that the Sabbath day in the Old Testament and New Testament were both a day of victory and live a life that is victorious and strives to keep the Sabbath day holy.
