나의 찬송을 부르라!

사43:21

생명의 말씀

“이 백성은 내가 나를 위하여 지었나니 나의 찬송을 부르게 하려 함이니라”

하나님이 사람을 창조하신 목적은 사람으로 하여금 하나님을 ‘찬양’하도록 하기 위함입니다. 그러므로 사람의 본분은 하나님을 찬양하는데 있습니다. 구약에서는 비파와 수금 등 각종 악기를 연주하며(대하5:12-14) 찬양했습니다. 솔로몬 성전을 완공하고 언약궤를 다윗성에서 메어올 때 노래하는 성가대뿐 아니라 각종 악기를 연주하는 제사장들을 동원하고, 나팔 부는 제사장들 120명을 모아 일제히 찬양하며 감사할 때 여호와의 전에 구름이 가득하였으며 여호와의 영광이 가득함으로 제사장이 능히 서서 섬기지 못할 정도였습니다.

하나님은 사람뿐 아니라 ‘천지’가 모두 당신을 찬송하도록 요구하십니다. “바다와 그 중의 모든 동물”까지 찬양하라고 명하셨습니다(시69:34). 풀벌레 우는 소리부터 바다의 모든 동물들의 소리는 곧 하나님을 찬양하는 소리입니다. 하물며 하나님께 찬송하는 존재로 지음받은 사람이 어찌 찬양하지 않을 수 있겠습니까? 감사가 있는 곳에는 찬송이 있게 마련입니다. 찬송이 있을 때 기도가 있고, 기도가 있는 곳은 마음에 각오와 결심이 서게 됩니다. 이것이 찬송의 위력입니다.

그래서 하나님은 찬송 가운데 거하시는 분이라고 성경은 증거하고 있습니다. “이스라엘의 찬송 중에 거하시는 주여!”(시22:3)라는 말씀과 같이 찬송할 때 그 가운데 거하시는 하나님을 만날 수 있습니다. 찬송 부를 때 마른 땅에 샘물이 터져 흐르고, 거북 등같이 갈라진 땅에 복된 장맛비 같은 축복이 쏟아져 형통하게 됩니다. 하나님은 ‘생수의 근원’(렘2:13, 17:13)이 되시기 때문에, 목소리를 높여서, 각종 악기를 다 동원하여, 온 몸으로 하나님을 찬양할 때 생수와 같은 시원한 응답의 축복이 주어집니다.

여러분의 삶 속에서 잃어버린 찬양을 회복하고, 온 몸으로 힘껏 하나님을 찬양함으로 찬송 중에 거하시는 하나님을 만나는 오늘 하루가 되기 위하여 기도하십시오.

The Word of Life

“The people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise.”

God’s purpose in creating mankind is to praise God through man therefore man’s duty is to praise God. In the Old Testament people praised God by playing a variety of instruments including trumpets and cymbals (2 Chr 5:12-14) and when the construction of Solomon’s temple was completed and the Ark of the covenant was being brought from the temple of David, they not only gathered the choir to sing but they also got together 120 priests who played a variety of different instruments including the trumpet. When they all gathered and praised God in unison with thanksgiving clouds filled the house of the Lord and His glory was filled throughout that the priests were not able to serve Him upright.

God not only asks mankind but requests that the heaven and earth praise Him also. He commanded that even “the seas and all that move in them” praise Him (Psa 69:34). All sounds from the sounds of insect cries to all the sounds of animals in the ocean are the sounds of praising God. Then how can mankind who was created as beings who exist to praise God not praise Him? Where there is thanksgiving, there is praise. When there is praise there is prayer and where there is prayer in ones heart form determination and resolution. This is the power of praise.

Therefore the Bible testifies that God dwells within praise. As recorded in Psalm 22:3 “Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One; you are the one Israel praises!” we can meet God who dwells within our praise when we praise. When we sing praises everything goes well and the spring waters rise up from the dry land and the rain waters of blessing shower down upon that land that is like the back shell of a tortoise. God becomes the origin of the spring waters (Jer 2:13, 17:13) therefore when we raise up our voices and gather different instruments to praise God with all our bodies He will provide us with a answer of blessing that is like the cool spring waters.
