하나님의 은혜를 아는 사람
행20:24

생명의 말씀

“나의 달려갈 길과 주 예수께 받은 사명 곧 하나님의 은혜의 복음 증거하는 일을 마치려 함에는 나의 생명을 조금도 귀한 것으로 여기지 아니하노라”

사도바울은 그리스도의 빛을 체험한 이후 나의 나됨도 하나님의 ‘은혜’요 받은 바 직분도 그리스도의 은혜로 말미암았음을 늘 고백하는 삶을 살았습니다. 그리고 실제로 가는 곳마다 이 ‘은혜’의 축복을 나눠주고, 베풀었으며, 사람들은 하나님의 은혜를 보고 기뻐했습니다(행11:22-24). 그러므로 성경에서 말하는 참된 사람은 사도바울과 같이 하나님의 은혜를 알고 이를 증거하는 사람입니다.

성경에서 말하는 ‘은혜’는 사람의 행위나 노력을 통해 주어지는 것이 아니라 하나님의 선물로 값없이 주어진 것입니다. 그 내용을 볼 때 영원한 죄인을 의인으로 만들어 줍니다. 생명이 없는 자에게 생명을 줍니다. 이 모든 것을 그리스도 안에서 값 없이 주신 것입니다. 우리가 받을만한 가치나 공로가 없음에도 불구하고 하나님께서 베풀어주시는 자비와 긍휼, 사랑, 이것이 바로 ‘은혜’입니다. 우리가 죄 사함 받은 것도, 예수를 믿어 하나님의 자녀가 된 것도 나의 공로가 아니라 하나님의 은혜입니다. 세상을 살아갈 때 필요한 것을 때에 따라 공급받는 것도 하나님의 은혜입니다. 그러므로 깨닫고 나서 나 자신을 살펴보면 “내게 있는 것 중에 받지 않은 것이 아무것도 없습니다” 하고 고백하게 됩니다.

사도바울 자신 또한 이러한 하나님의 은혜를 깨닫고 은혜의 하나님 앞에 머리를 숙였습니다. 그래서 자신을 ‘만삭되지 못해서 낳은 자식’과 같다고 하였고, 하나님의 사도라 부를만한 자격이 없다고 고백했던 것입니다. 나의 나된 것을 하나님의 은혜로 고백하고, 자신의 생명을 조금도 귀한 것으로 여기지 아니하며 선교사역에 헌신했던 인물이 바로 사도바울이 아닙니까?(행20:24) 그러므로 성경에서는 하나님의 은혜를 아는 것이 인생의 가장 큰 축복이라 말씀하고 있습니다. 하나님의 은혜를 바로 알고 사는 성도는 날마다 그 삶 자체가 감사하고, 날마다 변해가고, 하나님의 소망과 기쁨 가운데 살아가게 됩니다(살후2:16-17).

<기도제목>

진정으로 하나님의 은혜를 받은 성도를 이를 이웃에게 나눠주기 위해 자기 생명을 아끼지 아니하는 자들입니다. 오늘 하루도 사도바울처럼 받은 바 은혜를 나누기에 힘쓰는 한날이 되도록 기도하십시오.

The Word of Life

"But I do not consider my life of any account as dear to myself, so that I may finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify solemnly of the gospel of the grace of God."

After Apostle Paul experienced the light, he testified solemnly of the gospel of the grace of God. On his journeys, he shared and bestowed the blessing of grace and rejoiced as he witnessed the grace of God working among the people (Acts 11:22-24). The Bible speaks of true faith and Apostle Paul is a prime example of one who displayed it.

Bible describes grace as not gained by effort or actions but given freely as a gift from God. God has made eternal sinners to become righteous. He gave life to those without life. All these were given to us freely. It is grace that we while we did not deserve it, it was granted to us by God’s compassion, mercy, and love. Our redemption of sins and becoming God’s children was not by our decision but by His grace. It is also God’s grace that our needs are filled as we live on this earth. When you reflect, you can say, “I have everything and I am not in need of anything”.

Apostle Paul bowed his head before God, as he understood more about God’s grace. He described himself as “born premature” and not deserving to be God’s apostle. He said in Acts 20:24, “But I do not consider my life of any account as dear to myself, so that I may finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify solemnly of the gospel of the grace of God.”

Bible states the greatest blessing is understanding God’s grace. Then you can live a life of thanksgiving, transformation, and with God’s hope and joy (2 Thessalonians 2:16-17).

"Prayer Request"

True believers who have received God’s grace are willing to sacrifice their life for their neighbors. Let us pray that we can follow Apostle Paul and be diligent to share God’s grace to others.
