교회의 참된 일꾼

골1:28-29

생명의 말씀

“우리가 그를 전파하여 각 사람을 권하고 모든 지혜로 각 사람을 가르침은 각 사람을 그리스도 안에서 완전한 자로 세우려 함이니 이를 위하여 나도 내 속에서 능력으로 역사하시는 이의 역사를 따라 힘을 다하여 수고하노라”

사도바울은 자신을 늘 교회의 일꾼으로 생각하고, 일꾼처럼 충성을 다했던 인물입니다. 그는 자신을 가리켜 ‘복음의 일꾼’(골1:23), ‘교회의 일꾼’(골1:25), 또한 ‘새 언약의 일꾼’(고후3:6)이라 칭하였습니다. 이처럼 완벽한 신앙의 삶을 살았던 사도바울의 모습을 통해 ‘나도 과연 교회의 참된 일꾼인가’점검해 보도록 하겠습니다.

오늘 본문 28절을 보면 “우리가 그를 전파하여”라는 말씀이 나옵니다. 여기서 ‘그’는 예수 그리스도를 말합니다. 그분은 보이지 아니하는 하나님의 형상입니다(골1:15). 또한 하나님의 비밀입니다(골1:26-27). 그러므로 참된 교회의 일꾼은 하나님의 형상이요 비밀이신 예수 그리스도, 그분의 복음을 전하는 자들입니다. 예수를 전할 때 영광의 소망을 얻게 됩니다(골1:27). 그 속에 있는 생명으로 말미암아, 마치 씨를 뿌리면 싹이 올라오는 것 같이 생명의 역사로 충만해집니다. 살아있는 교회가 된다는 말입니다. 죽은 교회는 아무리 씨를 뿌려도 싹이 올라오지 않습니다. 씨 자체가 죽었기 때문입니다. 그래서 예수님의 탄생은 마치 생명이 흙을 뚫고 나오듯 기쁨의 좋은 소식이 됩니다(눅1:10).

구약 시대 때 하나님께서는 모세를 통해 성막건축을 명령하심으로 하나님의 일꾼들의 전형(典型)을 제시해 주고 있습니다. 성막은 예수님이 거하시는 곳, 하나님의 거처요 인간들 사이에 임재하시는 임재의 상징입니다. 그러므로 모세를 통해 제시된 성막건축의 비젼은 오늘날 예수 그리스도를 전하는 것과도 같습니다. 구약 성경을 볼 때 놀라운 것은 성막건축에 참여한 스무살 넘은 모든 장정들이 하나도 빠짐없이 헌금에 동참했다는 것입니다(출28:20-26, 출38:24-36). 이스라엘 백성들은 지체없이 자발적으로 참여했습니다. 조금도 인색함이 없이 적극적으로 동참했던 이스라엘 백성들의 모습이야말로 교회의 참된 일꾼의 모습인 것입니다.

교회의 참된 일꾼은 예수 그리스도의 복음을 증거하며 하나님의 구원역사에 적극적으로 동참하는 자들입니다. 오늘 하루도 이 모든 일에 헌신함으로 하나님의 참된 일꾼의 삶을 살도록 기도하십시오.

Colossians 1:28-29

The Word of Life

We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ. For this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me.

Apostle Paul stated that he was worker of the church and he was loyal to the end. He said that he was a “minister of gospel” (Colossians 1:23), “minister of the church” (Colossians 1:25), and “servant of a new covenant” (2 Corinthians 3:6). Through the perfected life of Apostle Paul, let’s examine how we can be true workers for the church.

In today’s scripture, Colossians 1:28, it states “we proclaim Him” that is we are proclaiming Jesus. He is the image of the invisible God (Colossians 1:15). Jesus is also the secret of God (Colossians 1:26-27). Therefore in order for us to be true workers of the church, we need to spread the Gospel of Jesus who is image of the invisible God and the secret of God. When we spread Gospel of Jesus we gain the hope of the glory (Colossians 1:27). Through His life, as seeds that are planted will sprout, the gospel will give life to us. Then the church will be alive. Seeds in a dead church will not sprout as much as you try, because the seed itself is dead. Therefore the birth of Jesus can be compared to life pushing the dust presenting us with good news (Luke 2:10).

In the Old Testament, God commanded Moses to build the tabernacle and appointed the workers for the construction. Tabernacle is where Jesus resides; it is a place of mediation between man and God. Therefore when God commanded the construction of the tabernacle, it is the same as spreading the good news of Jesus Christ. The most remarkable thing is that every male over 20 years old gave offerings for the construction of the tabernacle (Exodus 28:20-26, 38:24-36). The Israelites participated in the construction of the tabernacle. True workers of the church will do their best to give freely for the works of salvation.
