하나님의 최고의 사랑, 십자가

고전1:23-24

생명의 말씀

“우리는 십자가에 못 박힌 그리스도를 전하니 유대인에게는 거리끼는 것이요 이방인에게는 미련한 것이로되 오직 부르심을 입은 자들에게는 유대인이나 헬라인이나 그리스도는 하나님의 능력이요 하나님의 지혜니라”

기독교의 핵심은 십자가에 있기에, 기독교는 ‘십자가의 종교’라고도 표현할 수 있습니다. 그러나 오늘날 이러한 십자가의 효능과 중요성을 간과하고 부정하는 잘못된 이단사상들이 범람하고 있습니다. 십자가를 통해 하나님께서 당신의 최고의 사랑을 실천해주신 내용으로 함께 은혜를 받도록 하겠습니다.

첫째, 십자가는 하나님의 ‘예정’입니다. 예수님은 하나님의 말씀대로 오시고, 이 땅에서 태어났을 뿐 아니라 말씀대로 사시고, 말씀대로 일하시다 가신 분입니다. 예수님의 공생애 사역 가운데도 가장 핵심이라면 당연히 ‘십자가’입니다. 이 십자가는 결코 우발적으로 주어진 것이 아니라 하나님의 ‘예정’ 속에서 주어진 섭리입니다. 인류의 죄를 사하고 구원을 이루기 위한 제단으로 하나님은 십자가를 예정하시고, 제물로서 당신의 외아들 예수 그리스도를 준비하신 것입니다. 이것이 모든 사람을 위해 자기를 ‘속전’으로 지불하신 것이요(딤전2:6), 그 길을 미리 아시고 걸어가시는 주님의 답답한 심경이 눅12:50에 표현돼 있습니다.

둘째, 십자가는 하나님의 ‘먼저 사랑’입니다. 십자가는 사람들의 요구나 요청으로 주어진 것이 아니요 하나님께서 일방적으로, 사람들의 요구가 있기 전에 미리 준비하신 사랑의 결정체입니다. 그러므로 십자가에 나타난 하나님의 사랑은 ‘먼저 사랑’이라 할 수 있습니다.

셋째, 십자가는 모든 죄인들에게 ‘큰 복음’입니다. 십자가보다 더 좋은 복음의 소식은 없습니다. 십자가가 없다면 구원받을 자 하나도 없습니다. 그럼에도 이 십자가가 헬라인들에게는 미련하게 보이고 유대인들에게는 꺼리는 것이 되었습니다. 그러나 구원 얻는 우리 성도에게는 구원의 근간이자 하나님의 권세와 능력이 됩니다(고전1:23-25). 십자가의 능력으로 하나님의 아들로 다시 회복되며, 새로운 피조물로 지음받는 축복된 역사가 일어나게 됩니다. 그러니 십자가야말로 하나님의 최고의 사랑인 것입니다.

<기도제목>

십자가를 볼 때 마다 하나님의 아픔과 인류에 대한 사랑을 깨닫게 됩니다. 오늘 하루도 십자가 속에 담긴 하나님의 사랑과 섭리, 그 능력을 깨닫고 십자가 안에서 새로워하지는 삶을 살도록 기도하십시오.

1 Corinthians 1:23-24

The Word of Life

23 but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, 24but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

The essence of Christianity is with the cross hence Christianity can be said to be the ‘religion of the Cross’. However, today incorrect communist ideologies that ignore the effect and importance of the Cross and deny it overflow. Let us share grace with the greatest love that God will carry out through you.

First, the cross is God’s ‘prearrangement’. Jesus came according to the Word of God and he not only was born in this world but lived according to the Word and worked according to the Word before he departed. The core of the Work of Jesus throughout his life would undoubtedly be the ‘Cross’. This cross wasn’t accidentally given to us but is God’s providence given to us within the ‘prearrangement’ of God. God prearranged the Cross in order to give atonement for the sins of mankind and make an altar of salvation, and as the sacrifice prepared Jesus, his one and only son. This was Jesus giving himself as a ransom for all people (1 Tim 2:6), and Jesus’ heavy laden heart in already knowing the path he must walk is expressed in Luke 12:50.

Second, the Cross is God’s ‘first love’. The Cross isn’t given upon the request of men but is the complete form of love itself given to us by God unilaterally before we request it. Therefore, the love that appears on the Cross can be said to be the ‘first love’ of God.

Third, the Cross is the ‘great gospel’ to all

sinners. There isn’t any better news of the gospel than the Cross. Even though we cannot receive salvation without the Cross to the Hebrews, this Cross looked foolish and the Jews shunned it. However, to us saints it is the foundation of salvation and the power and authority of God (1Cor 1:23-25). With the power of the cross, we are restored as the son of God and the work of blessing of becoming built into a new creation will occur. Thus the Cross is the greatest love of God.

Prayer Title

Whenever we look at the Cross we realize the pain and love that God has towards all mankind. Pray that today you will be able to realize the love, providence and power of God that is within the Cross and live a life that is renewed within the Cross.
