성도가 입어야할 거룩한 옷
골3:12

생명의 말씀

“그러므로 너희는 하나님의 택하신 거룩하고 사랑하신 자처럼 긍휼과 자비와 겸손과 온유와 오래 참음을 옷입고”

본문 말씀을 보면 성도가 입어야할 다섯 가지 옷으로, 긍휼과 자비, 겸손과 온유, 오래 참음의 옷이 있습니다. 이 다섯 가지 옷이 가리키는 영적인 의미를 살펴보도록 하겠습니다.

1) 긍휼의 옷 : 긍휼이란 비참한 상태에 있는 자를 불쌍히 여기고 도와주는 것을 말합니다. 애가3:22절에서 “여호와의 자비와 긍휼히 무궁하시므로 우리가 진멸되지 아니함이니이다”고 하였고, 롬9:16절 말씀에도 “오직 긍휼히 여기시는 하나님”으로 인해 우리가 긍휼을 받게 된다고 분명히 말씀하고 있습니다. 그러므로 긍휼의 옷을 입는다는 것은 하나님의 긍휼 속에 살아가는 것을 말하며(벧전2:10), 끝까지 인내하며 기다리는 삶을 가리킵니다(약5:11).

2) 자비의 옷 : 자비란 사랑하고 불쌍히 여기는 것을 말합니다. ‘자비’는 하나님의 속성 중에 하나로서(출22:27), 긍휼과 같이 측은한 마음으로 가난한 자나 당신의 자녀들에게 아낌없이 베풀어 주시는 은총을 가리킵니다.

3) 겸손의 옷 : 겸손은 자기를 낮추고 남을 높이는 마음을 말합니다. 성경적 의미에서의 겸손은 하나님 앞에서 자기의 죄를 자각하고, 낮은데 처하는 마음가짐을 말합니다(대하34:27). 이는 겸손이 단순히 외형상의 태도를 가리키는 말이 아니라 하나님의 거룩하심과 자신의 죄인된 것의 한계를 올바로 인식할 때 나타날 수 있는 신앙적인 자세임을 뜻합니다.

4) 온유의 옷 : 온유란 따뜻하고 부드러운 마음으로, 주로 관용과 겸허, 인내와 사랑 등과 함께 거론된 말입니다. 모세가 바로 대표적인 온유의 사람이었습니다(민12:3).

5) 오래 참음의 옷 : 오래 참음은 ‘인내’를 말하는 것으로, 어떠한 어려움과 고통, 또는 성질이 날 수 밖에 없는 상황에서도 끝까지 참고 인내함으로 하나님의 약속하신 것들을 기업으로 받는 축복의 비결로 말씀하고 있습니다(히6:12). 그래서 야고보는 사람의 성내는 것이 결코 하나님의 의를 이루지 못한다고 하였습니다(약1:20).

성도가 입어야할 다섯 가지 거룩한 옷에 대해 살펴본 것처럼, 하나님의 신실한 자녀로서 긍휼과 거룩과 겸손, 온유와 인내의 옷을 입고 살아갈 수 있도록 기도하십시오.

The Word of Life

"So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience;"

In the scripture reading, there are five clothes that believers need to wear: compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Let us learn about the spiritual content of these five clothes.

1. Clothes of compassion: When you have sympathy for another’s misfortune. In Lamentations 3:22, The LORD'S lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail. Romans 3:19 states, but on God who has mercy, we can receive mercy. To wear the clothes of mercy is to live in the mercy of God (1Peters 2:10). It is life that is enduring until the end (James 5:11).

2. Clothes of kindness: To love and help those in need. Kindness is one of God’s character (Exodus 22:27). Kindness like compassion is when you have sympathy for another’s misfortune.

3. Clothes of humility: A heart that lowers yourself and uplifts others. Biblically, humility is when you present your sins before God and belittling yourself (2 Chronicles 34:27). Humility is not only an act but also seeking after God’s holiness and overcoming your sinful nature.

4. Clothes of gentleness: A heart that is warm and soft. To be patient and filled with love. Moses was the most humble person on this earth (Numbers 12:3).

5. Clothes of patience: To be patient is to endure. Regardless of the difficulty and anger, you are enduring until the end to inherit God’s promised rewards (Hebrews 6:12). James said that for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God (James 1:20).

As we learned about the five clothes that believers need to wear, let us pray that we can put on compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience
