하나님을 진심으로 섬기는 방법은? 2
신10:12-13

생명의 말씀

“이스라엘아 네 하나님 여호와께서 네게 요구하시는 것이 무엇이냐 곧 네 하나님 여호와를 경외하여 그 모든 도를 행하고 그를 사랑하며 마음을 다하고 성품을 다하여 네 하나님 여호와를 섬기고 내가 오늘날 네 행복을 위하여 네게 명하는 여호와의 명령과 규례를 지킬 것이 아니냐”

마음과 뜻과 성품을 다해 하나님을 진심으로 섬기는 방법이 무엇인지 계속해서 살펴보도록 하겠습니다.

첫째, 하나님을 기쁘게 섬겨야 합니다. 우리가 하나님을 섬기되 기쁘게 섬겨야 됩니다. 히12:28절에도 “경건함과 두려움으로 하나님을 기쁘게 섬길지니”라고 분명히 말씀하고 있습니다. 대상28:9절 말씀에서도 다윗 왕은 솔로몬 왕에게 이르기를 “내 아들 솔로몬아 네 아비의 하나님을 알고 온전한 마음과 기쁜 뜻으로 섬길지어다”라고 권면하고 있습니다. 주의 일에 봉사할 때나 헌금할 때도 이처럼 기쁘게 바치고 헌신해야 됩니다(대상27:17).

둘째, 물질을 드려가면서 섬겨야 합니다. 눅8:3절에 보면 적은 무리의 여자들이 ‘자기들의 소유로 저희를 섬기더라’고 하신 것처럼, 하나님을 섬길 때는 물질을 드리며 섬겨야 합니다. 하나님은 ‘즐겨 내는 자’를 사랑하시기 때문입니다(고후9:7). 은혜 가운데 기쁨과 감사함으로, 모든 것이 하나님의 것이라는 믿음과 감사로 일할 때 하나님께서는 기뻐 열납하십니다.

셋째, 무시로 기도하면서 섬겨야 합니다. 눅2:37절 말씀을 볼 때 아셀 지파의 딸 선지자 안나는 “성전을 떠나지 아니하고 주야에 금식하며 기도함으로” 주를 섬겼다고 증거하고 있습니다. 행13:2절에서도 “주를 섬겨 금식할 때에” 성령의 응답이 있었던 것을 볼 수 있습니다. 이처럼 금식하며 기도함으로 정성을 다하여 주를 섬길 때 하나님께서 선교사 파송을 명령하셨던 것입니다. “모든 기도와 간구로 하되 무시로 성령 안에서 기도하라”(엡6:18)고 명령하신 것처럼 무시로 기도하며 늘 깨어 하나님을 섬겨야 합니다.

넷째, 신령과 진정으로 의심 없이 섬겨야 합니다. 롬1:9절 볼 때 내 심령으로 섬기는 하나님을 믿는다는 내용을 발견할 수 있습니다. 하나님을 섬기는 것은 심령의 문제입니다. 그래서 롬7:6절에도 영의 새로운 것으로 섬기라고 말씀하셨으며, 눅1:75에도 성결과 의로 섬기라고 명령하고 있습니다.

<기도제목>

하나님을 섬기는 것은 마음의 문제만이 아닙니다. 우리의 물질을 드리며 무시로 기도하는 노력이 따라야만 합니다. 오늘 하루도 신령과 진정으로 의심 없이, 우리의 모든 것을 드리며 하나님을 섬길 수 있도록 기도하십시오.

And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to observe the Lord’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good?

Let us continue to explore the more ways to serve God wholeheartedly with all our heart and soul.

First, we must serve God with joy. When we serve God we must do it with joy. In Hebrews 12:28 it tells us to “worship God acceptably with reverence and awe”. In 1 Chronicles 28:9 King David tells King Solomon, “And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind”. When we do God’ work or pay offerings we must dedicate our time and money and devote ourselves in joy (1 Chr 27:17).

Second, we must serve Him by paying offerings. In Luke 8:3 it is written, “therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe”. As such, when we serve God we must serve by paying offerings. This is because God loves those who ‘offer up in joy’ (2 Cor 9:7). When we have faith that all things belong to God and work with grace, joy and thankfulness God will receive this with delight.

Third, we must serve with ongoing prayer. In Luke 2:37 we see the account of the prophet Anna, the daughter of the tribe of Asher “never left the temple but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying”. In Acts 13:2 it is also written that when we “serve the Lord in fasting” the Holy Spirit will answer our prayer. Likewise, when we served the Lord wholeheartedly through fasting and praying, He commanded the sending out of evangelists. As He commanded in Ephesians 6:18 to “pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests” we must be alert and always keep on praying and serve God.

Fourth, we must believe with all our heart and soul without doubting. In Romans 1:9 we are able to read the content of a God whom our hearts and soul serve. Serving God is an issue of the heart and soul. In Romans 7:6 it says to serve with the new things of the spirit and in Luke 1:75 it commands us to serve with holy consecration and righteousness.

Prayer Title

Serving God is not only an issue of our heart. We must make a conscientious effort to pay offerings and pray continuously. Pray that today you may be able to serve God with all you heart and soul without doubting and serve Him by giving Him our all.
