Foreword
Foreword
True anxiety is something that “you and I” bear together. Even in Matthew 18:19, it says that when we pray in one accord, God who is in heaven will hear and answer. Just as the pain in one toothache affects the whole body from the head down, 1 Corinthians 12:12 and 27 teaches that we must be together and care for one another as members of one body, so we as believers should bear one another’s burdens (Rom 15:1; Gal 6:2, 5:14; 1 Thess 5:14; 1 John 4:21). All we need to do is pray before God. 1 Corinthians 12:26 says, “If one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.” Therefore, the worries of the saints are shared worries.
The blessings of hope, peace of mind, and freedom from anxiety belong only to those who belong to Jesus Christ. This is because there is One to whom we can entrust everything. The reason we cannot entrust our burdens to God is because we do not fully trust Him. God is closer to us than our parents and even closer than our blood relatives. From today, entrust all your worries, concerns, and anxieties to God and pray earnestly. I believe that your problems will surely be resolved.
Mutual concern is the church’s great glory and its participation in both suffering and unity. It is not “you alone” and “me alone,” but a union. Mutual concern is the great strength that makes the church the church. Without strength, we fall apart. When fellow members of the church family cling to one another and pray for each other, strength is given. This kind of heart brings peace, joy, and gladness, and it leads us to a firm confidence in faith that God will surely work His miracle. In every case, please believe that when the Holy Spirit comes and works in your personal life, your family, your workplace, and all your businesses, then all worries, anxieties, and burdens you have carried until today—even debts and financial struggles—will be resolved when God’s grace is at work.
